Round 1 Match 9

Heyyy! vs. Whaaaa?
Fonzie: The hood with a heart of gold, and a Genie-esque finger snapping power. Lost's Sawyer owes a lot to Fonzie. In a very obvious and literal sense (it was even one of his catch-phrases), the Fonz is cool.
Arthur Dent: Sure, "Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy" had great reference points, (Zaphod, the Babel Fish, the talking meal at the restaurant, 42, etc.) but it is Arthur who is the heart of the increasingly inaccurate trilogy. In as far as an anxiety-ridden, pajama clad fish out of water can be cool, Arthur is cool.
Criteria: Do clothes really make the man? If Arthur had gone into space in tight jeans and a leather jacket, would he be cooler? If Fonz had to fix his motorcycles and charm the ladies with a towel and a bathrobe, would he still be seen as cool or would he be told to "sit on it"?

Round 1 Match 10

Ogre vs. Beagle
Shrek: Loud and coarse, but a softy in the end.
Snoopy: Silent and suave. Like a cat in a dog's body, he's the "cool room-mate" to Charlie Brown
Criteria: Obvious. "Dancing with the Stars" competition.

Round 1 Match 11

Slapstick Dummies vs. Infant Evil Genius
The Three Stooges: If you must include Shemp in your discussions, fine. I'm a Curly guy all the way. A Stooges film was like a Roadrunner cartoon, not much on plot, kind of repetitive, but it always delivered the goods.
Stewie: As much evil as can fit into a two-foot frame. Like most Family Guy characters, he's like Bart, but without the redemptive moments.
Criteria: Hand to hand combat is no good here, since the Stooges would keep fighting with each other. How about if Lois hires the Stooges to babysit Stewie?

Round 1 Match 12

Battle of the Grumpy-pants!
Relic: He's like Professor Snape, but with a touque. Looks like the blueprint for every Scooby-Doo bad guy. "I would have got those logs too, if it wasn't for the meddling of those pesky kids!"
Eeyore: the most popular passive-aggressive melancholy equine featured in a children's book EVER.
Criteria: Eeyore has built himself his usual house of sticks. Relic wants to salvage the sticks before Nick shows up. Discuss.
