Round 1 Match 6: Animal Division

Stop-Action Battle!

Goliath: Davey's faithful conscience in his moral quest. While not as exciting as most weekend television, and frankly a little on the preachy side, his voice and mannerisms are still referenced today, (especially when contemplating something mischievous).
Pokey: Gumby's faithful companion in his adventures into storybooks, mirrors, etc. He is the "Boots" to Gumby's "Dora" and part of the biggest "ironic-cool" marketing boom of the 80's.

Round 1 Match 6: Cute/Funny Division

Leopard-spotted Battle!

Captain Caveman: Like a primal Inspector Gadget, with a multi-tool club, and more devices secreted away in his hair, (ewww). Was the cause of many a sore throated child who imitated his battle cry.

George of the Jungle: The tongue-in-cheek Tarzan parody. Fast paced and subtle, most of George's appeal lay with his supporting cast, but he was great himself, (in a kind of Roger Ramjet way). Another example of music's role in pop-culture prevalence, the theme song was incredibly infectious.

Round 1 Match 6: Action Division

Bad-Guy Battle!

Zoltar: The evil leader of Spectra (does KIA know their car is evil?), always foiled by G-Force. Best huh? moment in kids TV when Zoltar was unmasked (he's a she?).

Dr. Klaw: The evil leader of MAD, always foiled by Inspector Gadget. Never seen except for his metal hand, and his ominous voice. Dr. Klaw was never caught (like his James Bond counterparts), and never repented (like Austin Powers' Dr. Evil).

Round 1 Match 6: Potpourri Division

Annoying Sidekick Battle Part 2!!
Orko: Yet another diminutive incompetent sidekick to a big guy with a sword. Cute and harmless, Orko served to temper the testosterone-ridden violent Masters of the Universe. Without Orko, the show is a mostly-naked guy having a swordfight with a skeleton. Not the most family-friendly stuff.

7-Zark-7: The R2D2 rip-off that served as narrator for G-Force's adventures. Invented to help make sense of the plot alterations necessary when "Gatchaman" was translated into "Battle of the Planets". Many see 7-Zark-7 as the symbol for tampering with a good thing, like trying to colorize movies.
