This is going to be the toughest competition yet. I look at the list and see two distinct camps. The first is a the group of underdogs and nerds who have managed to acheive great things, Ghandi, Lincoln, Hawkings. The second is the group that became infamous/iconic through blatant self promotion or public stupidity - Tony Robbins, Hasselhoff, Lohan.
The underdog story is one that's hard to argue against and I feel that ultimately one of these titans will end up being the champ. My concern is that they iconic status is legitimized by the positive affects they have had on society. I would much prefer to argue weekly why one person has done less than the other to become an icon and declare that person the winner.
To this end, I suggest that we remove the underdogs and replace with fluff. Kim Campbell replaces Lincoln, Tom Vu for Stephen Hawkings, Tupaq for Ghandi, etc.
Obviously, this is just one person's opinion and I thought I'd get the ball rolling. Perhaps the rest of the weekly players have different thoughts, and once they have all been heard, a final list can be determined.
And, even if the betting pool is not as fancy as it was before, I suggest that we do it as it keeps weekly interest high.

Those are trades I never thought i would see written down...

Howevah, ahhhh_crap may have a point here... I vote for more fluff as well.
Perhaps: Sarah Palin? I kid (kind of...)
Emo Phillips?
Jerry Seinfeld (Is he on there already?)
Stan Lee?

I am thinking, based on the lack of comments here, that perhaps this incarnation of the contest be best moved to a group on Facebook. We may see more weekly action that way. I've forwarded to many people who haven't yet weighed in. These same people are on Facebook and may be more prone to comment.
Thoughts?
Thoughts?
I'm starting to think the same thing.
If we remember last season, I was posting notes on Facebook every round anyway to add interest. Why not just move it there? And we would get reminders in our facebook news feeds that way.
