Icon-o-clash 3: The "Real-World" Edition

I have no insightful reason at this time, but it's Kermit for me, please.
 

For me, this is the toughest competition to date. Both franchises are near and dear to my heart.

Then someone sent me some hidden footage of Kermit which swayed my vote to Snoopy. Apparently the pressures of stardom finally got to him and he is on a downward spiral. If you don't believe me, see for yourself at www.sadkermit.com/video.html. It is either the funniest or most disturbing thing I have ever seen (I haven't decided which) and is definitely NOT to be viewed by children of any age.

Couple that with the fact that Snoopy is making a HUGE insurgence into the Asian market with stores opening in China, Korea and Japan that sell the comic books, TV specials and all the Joe Cool t-shirts you can handle and I honestly believe that Peanuts, headed by Snoopy, has the most world-wide staying power.
 

Two little kids votes for Snoopy because he is all over their bedrooms and "he's got that red thing that makes words". Imagine an entire generation that has no idea what a typewriter is.

Just this past weekend I was showing the kids how I ate corn on the cob. "Like it's a typewriter", I said, making the appropriate bell noise at the end. Blank stares...

Hmmm - talk about two major icons going head to head. I think i have to go with Kermit - as i tell the story of Kermit who wanted to be in a movie to Oliv sometimes, but have never told the story of the little Beagle who belonged to a very round headed boy...
 

Oh, tough, tough choice here.

Both huge icons.

I'm swayed to Kermit's side because he is the icon of the Muppets, because he has been a champion of tv, cartoons, movies, actions figures, posters, etc. and Snoopy hasn't quite done all of that to the same degree.

I love Joe Cool, but I'm still voting for the frog.
 

Because he knocked out my precious Buffy I cannot in good conscience vote for Snoopy.
