Awesome, what a great matchup! I like Jack, I honestly do... but in terms of icon status, I'm going to have to go with 007. Bond has been around since 1952, with no signs of stopping, and has the multi-media, multi-cultural crossover covered in a way that Jack doesn't, or I doubt ever will. I think once "24" runs out of steam, as it is fated to do, Bond will still be saving the world from destruction, and driving way cooler cars as he does it...
James for the real Hutch - the one who never votes because he feels he is too busy to support his friends in this cool endeavour.
I think Bond has killed more people than Jack - although it has taken him about three additional decades to do it. However, he holds the iconic power in this battle.
