I think that if the original Disney Peter Pan was pictured in the thumbnail, I may be pursuaded to vote him. I guess it's one of those familiarity things.

Peter Pan is pretty big - but not as iconic as Miss Lodge.
Veronica has held her own throughout the changing landscape of pop culture - changing with it and enjoying a lasting popularity.
I think if it had been Tinkerbell instead of Peter Pan this would have been a different contest.

are you kidding me? peter pan (in all of his incarnations) has been around for generations - more than 100 years! in that time, it has been adapted on the stage, television and the silver screen. it has been a musical and animated film. it has inspired sequels and prequels and stirred up controversy. it is studied in institutions of higher learning and read to children in bed at night.

Although I have to agree that more hours of my childhood (and teenage hood) were spent with the crew from Riverside, I do think that Moxywoman is right about the iconic status.
Peter Pan stands for the original Lost Boys, Never never land and the concept that it is okay not to always be a grown-up.
