Round 1 Match 48
Lara: Controversial female protagonist of the Tomb Raider franchise. Some see her as overly sexualized and violent, and Angelina Jolie's incarnation didn't help matters. Maybe in the next game Countess Croft should start adopting third world children.
Austin: Danger is his middle name, and catchphrases are his game. The Austin Powers movie series is probably the only franchise to give The Simpson's a run for most recognizable quotations.
Criteria: Throughout all her adventures, Lara has been trying to look over her shoulder at that guy whose been following her around looking at her butt. She finally does, and look who she finds. "Yeah baby!!"

I find the above scene strangely arousing. But then again I'm married, so I must be a masochist...HAHAHAHA
Much as I am a fan of Laura, Mr. Powers rules this match in terms of universal influence (or at least my little corner of it).

The only universal influence Austin has is in his little mind. Visually alone, Laura has bigger impact.

Once upon a time I attended E3s regularly. They're like the ULTIMATE gamer fest and held in the Staples Center in downtown LA. First year I stayed at an extremely swanky five star hotel in Hollywood and had breakfast with Sidney Poitier (OK, he was like five tables from me but I'm sure he saw me!). The next year I was in a flea-bag hotel where your room key opened pretty much any hotel room on the floor (I tested this, we had to, our photographer had locked himself out of his room -- more on those adventures another time). Such were the heady days of the Internet boom and bust.
I bring this all up because while E3 sounds like a wet dream for a 13 year old (the 13 year old in us all) they are so much more an adult affair...so much so that you'd be horrified if you saw a family or a man pulling along a son of anything less than 17 or 18 years of age -- often the sillicone at an E3 far exceeds the family values found in Ohio. For three years running the highlight of the show (besides the excitement of Halo before it was bought by Microsoft) was the model that portrayed Laura Croft at whatever booth she happened to be visiting. Apparently this statuesque, 6'4", gorgeous, busty model was only 16 or 17 (so were the whispers of the quivering journalists, retail buyers and fellow gamers). She was stunning. Was that her? I don't know. It was so much more. You had to be there. I'm 6'4" and she had to be my height and much sexier (I know, it's hard to believe!).
Well, jokes aside, Austin never had the boys frothing.

The game show this week.... "The Biggest Loser!"
What weight does Laura have to lose - other than the obvious silicon kind. Although she may be the inspiration for our dreamy dieters (men and women alike)...
Austin has to win
