Darknight Detective vs. Bovine Collective!
Batman: One of the bigger superhero icons around with the most crossover media appearances. He was even a guest star on Scooby-Doo. Now that's a true sign of popularity.
Far Side Cow: A recurrent image in one of the most intelligent comic strips ever written. As a perennial user of Far Side day planners, I am here to say that the cows are cool.

Criteria: The cows are stampeding around Gotham causing all kinds of mayhem and destruction. Batman must find a way to turn them around without harming them or their satirical insight into the human condition. Discuss.

I'm torn - who would I rather have no a shirt? Who would I rather have on a mug? Who wuld I rather have on a calendar?
How would this conflict play out?
Batman takes on the deadly Amazon river cow? Batman gets in the batwing and the cows get into the rocket that they're using to get to the mooo-n?, Cows walking around when the Batmobile drives by and they all drop to all fours, then stand up again after he leaves? Cow gets charged with a crime, and prosecuting lawyer claims to know how he did it, demanding to know "Why now, brown cow?"
Anticipting resistance, I'll still vote to keep the cow in a little longer.
Batman is versatile, Cow is more so. Plus cow has never been made into a crappy Joel Schumacher movie.

We're at the halfway point of the first competition and I believe that the grass is green on the far side. That's no bull. I'm just saying that 'Cud I want you guess who I am voting for and I wouldn't dare try to Steer towards voting with me. It'd then be Teat for tat and you could try to hoof me all the way to Jersey which may make me Black An'gus Blue. There's just too much at Steak here, so I'll just say mooooooove over man bat, you've been Flanked by the cow.

I seem not to have any creative juices this week, so I am taking a break from the reality show competitions. Stay tuned, I am sure that they will be back next week.

umm. batman and i'm the one who asked for the cow to be included. batman just seems to me to be the stronger icon of the two. Not just because of the amazing marketing and movies and tv shows ans, heck, even a dance. he's world reknown, the dark night. and though the far side cow has made me laugh more, he doesn't hold a candle - even if he had opposable thumbs and could hold one.
Batman! Batman action figures and barbies played house together frequently throughout my childhood... and anybody that's cool enough for Barbie is cool enough for me...
Batman...hands down.
The far side was....amusing I suppose, but it has too big a following. Besides...coo's are stupid. Any animal that deficates where it eats does not deserve my vote.

My favourite moment in the Far Side comics: two cows sitting in their living room listening to the phone ringing and one of them looks at the other a little frightened and says; "And here we are without apposable thumbs." Or something to that effect.
But my favourite Batman moment was in "The Dark Knight Strikes Again" as Batman proves he is perhaps not a "super-hero" (in the strictest sense of the word, I think he's portrayed as actually old) but certainly rather the smartest and deadliest hero of them all when he beats Superman to a pulp -- I mean he beats the shit out of Superman -- with Kryptonite gloves.
To summarize...the cows can't answer the phone...Batman can outthink even Supes.
