Round 1 Match 16

Indestructible vs Incorrigible!
Mr. Bill: As a parody of Gumby, he was cooler and possibly more prevalent. A great example of the catch-phrase-generating power of Saturday Night Live.
Cat In The Hat: Dr. Seuss' franchise player. He's like Loki, but with a conscience. If he hadn't cleaned up the house after his rampage, it would've served the Mother right. Leaving her kids alone like that, what does she think this is, "Max and Ruby"?
Criteria: Does Mr. Bill's satirical look at children's programming overcome the chaotic legacy of the chapeau-chat? You decide!

Comments:
I would have voted for the cat if they hadn't made that terrible movie. The fact that halfway through I was thinking "Oh no" leads me to believe that Mr. Bill should win.

I was all set to vote cat too, but the point about the crappy Seuss movies is too important to ignore.

It's a good thing that SNL never made any sub-par spinoff movies.

Oh wait - I suppose there was Wayne's World 2, Coneheads, It's Pat!, Stuart Saves His Family, A Night at the Roxbury, Blues Brothers 2000, Superstar, The Ladies Man, and a little gem called:

Mr. Bill's Real Life Adventures, which sucked almost as badly as the Cat in the Hat movie.

I'm giving my vote to the cat, on the basis of greater value of the original. Cats don't often enjoy support from me - don't get used to it, kitty!

(I don't object to the original Blues Brothers, Bob Roberts, Wayne's World, or Office Space)

Well, if you have read my previous blunder, it is obvious that between these two I would choose the cat. Not because I am a cat lover, and not because I have anything against Mr. Bill - strangers are just friends that we haven't met yet. But because of all the doctor's essays, journal entries and texts I have had to endure of the years (and it is too many to count), good ol' Dr. Suess was really the only one I truly enjoyed.

So all being considered... Shrek for the win.

(Yes I am protesting that Shrek got such a bum draw. And honestly, I would choose him over any of this week's contestants. Life is not easy being an ogre!)

I like nonsense. I love Dr Suess. I never saw the Cat in the Hat movie because I didn't trust it to not ruin my love of the Hat (or the Cat).

Cat in the Hat takes the gold.

I did enjoy the (mis)adventures of Mr. Bill, but he will never have the status of the Cat - crapola movie notwithstanding - or is it withstanding??
Either or - the cat's got it in the bag, baby.

I may have to change my vote. I didn't realize there was a Mr. Bill movie. It must have been so bad that I wasn't permitted to see it. Or, perhaps I did see it and it was so bad that I have blocked the memory deep within my subconscious.

So, let the Cat win supreme.
