Round 4 Match 1 Winners - Featuring Guest Commentator: Jeffy!
A battle that started looking like a walk in the park for the Kool-Aid Man ended with him walking into a wall, and not breaking through! Like into Ray's mind, the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man "just popped in there". In an unprecedented decision, the commissioner declares this match to be one of two Squash-worthy victories.
In a dead heat as voting closed, tiebreaking support launches Astroboy onto his next adventure, and leaves the Little Prince grounded on asteroid B612.
As votes close, the "merry man" from the stars lags the girl with the hair from the stars. Will Rocket Robin Hood's surge of support keep him in until the year 3000, or will he return to his animation date of 1966? We'll let the commissioner decide this one. After much deliberation, and consulting with the video replay upstairs, it's a squeakingly close victory for Stella. Here's how I break down the votes: There was a lot of voting after the "around noon" deadline but I'll err on the side of inclusion and let those votes stand. This seems to give the edge to RRH. But, I had also stated in the heated post-ahhhcrap-wipeout "recruitment" discussion that there would have to be restrictions on unidentified anonymous votes, to make ballot stuffing harder. So that eliminates two of the Hood's votes, giving Stella the victory. Not since the figure skating scandal in Japan has there been so much reversal of fortune.
For the fourth time, a squash takes place in the Animal Division. This week, George puts a mauling on the erudite elephant, but will voters consider him ironic enough two weeks from now in the animal finals? |
