Round 2 Match 8: Action Division

Tintin's Folly? (or, as I like to call it "Jonny's Revenge")
Take out my favourite icon will you, my cow-licked friend? Well, here's your next opponent, hand picked by the commissioner himself! The "big bad booty daddy" himself, He-Man! No one can ignore He-Man's significance to pop culture, and he's already been responsible for the demise of another European icon. All you Tintin groupies better get your typing fingers warmed up, because it's going to take a lot for the Belgian Battler to get through to Round 3! Bwa-haa-haa!!!!!

Comments:
Neva chooses the one with the sword.

so does o-bear

These icons are both too un-ironic to survive, but I'll take Tintin to try and continue the Jonny Quest taunt-taunt.

Who's with me?

Tintin by a smidge in a battle that Jeffy has very accurately described as un-ironic.

i'm going with he-man cause of the game at the end... and because i am the powerlord!

No matter what the vote split, the commissioner is going to raise his hands above his head, put on the echo machine, yell "I have the power" and put He-Man through to the next round. To prove it, I'll vote for Rin Tin Tin. No wait, he's a cool dog, not a guy trying to be a chicken...

I vote none of the above.

i like Jeffy's taunt taunt - here's one for Tintin.

Heh heh - even more telling if the commisioner has to cast a deciding vote this morning in such a close battle.

Will anyone save him?

I roll up my shirt sleeves and cast my mind back to my days painting t-shirts on Queen Street...circa 1984/85...this is before I realized I had no artistic talent...what was my most requested Tee, you ask? It was a painting of Snowy (that's Tin Tin's dog btw) lost in the desert and having little sweat exclamation points dripping off of his head as made his way, even past tumbleweeds. AND I STILL HAVE THE EARLIEST VERSION (true, the cotton essentially gave out and I had to cut what was left from the outter rigging...but it's there).

So. First you bastards take out Snowy, and Asterix if I recall correctly...slowly my heroes from my childhood have been chipped away...and you call yourselves seekers of Irony! Pah! Now you want to take on the one guy who was there for me at the cottage when the flies were out and it was raining and I couldn't stand another game of Rummy 500. Well, chuckles...it isn't going to happen! Despite the Commissioner laying his persistant cough at my door step (despite my attempt to appease his onslaught with Nin Jom!) I say this...

TO ARMS!

What is more ironic than an anachronism? The cigar shaped spaceship that took Tin Tin to the moon...the friendly natured twin detectives (no racial profiling thank you very much)...they are ironic because they are almost forgotten. Their lunch boxes found only on Yorkville. The cottage has now been sold off to upgrade to something in Fergus (that too sold off since for a bungalow in Guelph). The days are passing quickly and folks have almost forgotten...but not I.

And who the hell played the guy with the sword in the movie? Dolph! I SAY NO MORE!

Well, that was authoritative. So much for A-bear having to choose!

I hope that Round 3 brings more spirited commenting like this!

huzzah!
