Round 2 Match 3: Cute/Funny Division
Fowl Guitar Hero vs Interstellar Gardener
Both of these characters enjoyed easy victories in the first round, but now it's a showdown of sentiment as one must be sent to icon oblivion! Will it be chicken in a bag, or cherub on a star? Your votes will decide!

who is more ironically iconic?
gotta go with the rooster one this one. i love Le Petit Prince, but he really is a symbol for Jesus, and Jesus is already an icon, so where is the irony in that?
sorry my little princely friend.

My ignorance rears its head again with the "second coming" of Le Petit Prince. who?
So, Rusty, i knew ye at least a little bit and i'm throwing you my vote.

Le petit prince is a literary icon with a rich cultural history and deep philospohical messages about love, the world, and social responsiblity.
The fact that people haven't heard of him trumps the "too popular to be ironic" vote; moreover the irony is our adoption of a character from a story with a largely child audience. (adoption was a subject which le petit prince was known to ponder at length - see interactions with the fox).

An impassioned plea for the artist formerly known as Petit Prince. He's too cool to bow out for a puppet chicken, even Rusty.

Le Petit Prince, no question. Le Petit Prince taught me more about life and how to live it than any other fictional character, I think. And if that's not ironic for someone who's in the "cute/funny division," I don't know what is.
for many reasons, i'm voting for Le Petit Prince.
*kids' book wins out over kids' TV show;
*plus the depiction of la lune in Le Petit Prince freaked me out far less than the moon that rose of the castle during closing credits.
*and in all honesty, i found Rusty quite annoying
"You down with LLP, yeah you know me!"

i believe that we are straying from making decisions based on irony. as i was so rightly reminded on the battle between Calvin and...I don't even remember who his opponent was...it's not about whom we like, it's about irony.
i LOVE LLP way more that Rusty, but i'm sticking to my decision.
IRONIC ICONS RAWK!
