Round 2 Match 1: Animal Division

There once was a monkey curious,
who beat a gorilla furious.
But can he beat quick,
this Calvin sidekick,
or will his voters be found spurious?

Comments:
Hobbes is magical
The Monkey is lovable
But George should win

A recent movie
And hit album by Jack Jones
Brings George's profile
To the fore too much for him
To win this contest. Go Hobbes!

Hobbes is of Calvin's pretend,
We never see George's life end.
Why Curious doesn't die,
Any pain he does well defy.
But Hobbes' stuffing is easy to mend.

Tough battle - I adore Hobbes, but I think I have to go with George, the exploited monkey.
"That's when Curious George became Furious George"

The filmfolk made a movie that
in my mind fell somewhat flat.
But George is still groovy-
no fault for the movie.
Blame the dude with the big yellow hat.

Year of the Tiger are people who
are charming, assertive, and true.
But I'll take the Monkey.
Clever and spunky,
and my son was born that year, too.

Haven't you always wanted a monkey? Throwing feces everywhere and tossing boogers at people?

While my first inclination is to go with Curious, I'm sticking with Hobbes. He's got more personality and personality goes a long way.
