Round 1 Match 7: Potpourri Division

Snow-man vs. Snow-tires!!

Bonhomme: Mascot of Carnaval in la belle province. Recently re-entered popular consciousness when the Bonhomme actors went on strike. Visions of big smiley mime-like snow men carrying placards and walking in circles...

Michelin Man: aka Bibendum, protector of you car and its contents. Another mute, his barrel-shape belies a rigorous cardiovascular program. This guy ran a lot. And while rolling a tire. Not to be messed with...

Comments:
I've got to go with the Michelin Man.. I hope there isn't any talk of seperation if Bonhomme loses, but the last Michelin Man ad I saw actually brought a tear (he has to say goodbye to the tire as it passes him on the conveyor line)

Gotta side with the Michelin Man. My kids lives depend on it...

Bonhomme, s'il vous plait.

Vive la Quebec Carnivale.

Down with corporate image Michelin Man.

I happen to love corporate images! Vive la capitalism!!!
That being said, I still have to vote for the goodman - Bonhomme. He's just so darn friendly looking all the time, plus he needs a pick me up after coming out of that strike...

Count me on équipe bonhomme as well. That guy truly is a Canadian icon.

Plus, they make good tires, but I don't like Michelin appealing to parental paranoia to try and sell them.

hahahaa!!

That michelin man is BUILT like a tank... bonhomme de neige is a hairy little french guy from quebec in a snowman suit that is encrusted with god knows what from the last decade of use.

Michelin... because so much is riding on this fight!

When it comes down do to these two, I feel it comes down to emotions.
The michelin man, while in his many commercial ads, has showed many emotions from being happy, or sad (when a driver near him shook his bobble head replica, or when he got fired for not being to "hydroplane out of control"). These emotions help me feel as if the michelin man is real.

While bonhomme is stuck with a scary perma smile that will scare off any child that stares at him for a long period of time.

The Man (Michelin) for the WIN

Bonhomme... such a great guy.
I think the only thing I learned (and retained) in grade school french classes pertained to La Carnival.. plus, scarves make me happy.

(I mean that nice one he wears at his waist)
