Cute/Funny Division: Round 1 Match 4

Mr. Line: An immigrated icon via "The Great Space Coaster". His visual adventures easily translated to any language, and were a highlight of the show.

Sam Crenshaw: The no-nonsense night watchman of Today's Special.

Comments:
i'm gonna have to go with La Linea on this one. Mr. Line used to make me laugh my ass off as a kid. his world was limitless. he was creative. had a little bit of a temper. as sweet as Sam Crenshaw was, i sort of see him letting Mr. Line walk all over him. not much of a backbone.

Vive La Linea!

When I was five years old I had a nightmare about Today's Special that I still remember to this day. Mannequins coming alive at night - AAAGHHH! Terrifying! I'm all for Mr Line - I definitely never had a dream about him.

Sam Crenshaw was a little absent minded that's for sure... and he usually didn't know what was going on in the store.. BUT the whole grandfatherly thing gets me every time... Mr. Line made me laugh, but Sam has some heart to him.
My vote's with the security gaurd.

Mr. Line....loved it, loved it, loved it.

How can you not vote for a simple line that can get drunk, mad, and laugh his ass off, all sometimes in the same 60 second short? Another great character from the Great Space Coaster!!

I give credit to line. A single dimensional object may be described as a line, but this line's character makes up for the other two..

Mr. Line has universal appeal, crossing all language barriers, engaging a stark world with, er, "animation".

We've seen Sam Crenshaw before as the Maytag Repair Man; we'll not ever see another Mr. Line (although Pingu captures a bit of his verve).

Voting for Mr. Line.

The character we really should have here was the hand and pencil that drew Mr. Line and was the source of the hilarity and temper tantrums. When you saw that eraser coming down on the page, you just knew Mr. Line was going over the edge.

Mr. Line all the way!!

Mr. Line.
I would get so excited when the Great Space Coaster guy would take that little tv out of his pocket and i knew the line man was coming up.

jon - being of equally rural heritage (well, my road was paved), i still managed to enjoy Mr Line.

homicidal restraint aside, Sam was no star. he was supporting cast at best. mannequin Jeff, even Muffy the mouse, were higher profile than this white bread sentry.

i continue to Walk the Line

that's Fullarton with an "a", as in "awesome".
